Meet my father, Douglas Grant Welch. Douglas was born in a rock house not much better than a stable. He was mostly a self-taught man who never finished high school, and yet who rose to be a lead engineer on the development of the schematics of the U.S. Space Shuttle and who represented NASA in the development of the United States' 911 emergency system.
